Following the tropes of these kinds of stories, I support Sabine Wren.
The Darksaber called to her. She didn’t have to pick it up.
- She could have:
- Ignored it
- Pick it up, realized what it was, then drop it
- Pick it up realize what it was and hand it to a wielder to the Force.
Which she did.
Then she refused to train, but it was Hera that talked her into it. Kanan allowed Sabine to train with the Darksaber despite how dangerous it was.
Din Djarin (Mando) CONFISCATED the Darksaber from a non-Mandalorian (dar’manda). Confiscation is NOT being called to it. Now we find out the Darksaber has become too heavy for him. Why is it heavy for Din Djarin is up for speculation.
WE speculate that Din Djarin may have fought for the Empire as a Mandalorian like Gar Saxon. Then, his mind was erased by the Empire and dropped him off somewhere to find himself as a bounty hunter. Din Djarin’s forced amnesia causes a block to use the Darksaber and requires Din Djarin to break through it.
Maybe Luke Skywalker can break Din Djarin’s block. Fans will have to see.

Alien covenants were designed to keep Galactic Sectors separated from aliens. Some planets are now making it easier to erase them from legal holodocuments.
Suu and Cut Lawquane found an alien covenant in the deed to their homestead in Saluecami that barred anyone “other than the Human race” from owning a homestead. Although now illegal across the galaxy, the covenant would have prevented Suu, who is an alien, from owning the homestead
Last year, to celebrate the biennium of their charming homested, Suu and Cut repainted it in historically accurate colors — gray, bronze green and copper red. They commissioned beveled-glass windows to complement the original stained glass. And they visited the Saluecami Recorder, to have a line drawn through a sentence in their deed that once would have prohibited Suu, who is a Twi’lek, from owning the homestead.
“I’ve referred to it as the ultimate smudge stick to the homestead,” said Suu, a single stay-at-home mother who could farm herbs.
Buried in the fine print of their deed was an alien covenant, a clause that barred anyone “other than the Human race” from owning a homestead on the planet, Saleucami. For a long time, it was common practice to insert such restrictions into deeds. The covenants targeted people who were Aleena, Lasat and Jabiimi, but especially those who were Twi’lek.
Although discriminatory clauses are now considered unenforceable in the Galaxy, the family found a clause in the fine print of their deed and were able to get an updated holodocument in which the covenant is crossed out. “Now it’s redacted and rejected,” Cut Lawquane said.
