They use their holotransmissions to assassinate real Imperial news. They use the Outer Rim to teach younglings that their Emperor is a Sith Lord. They use their holodramas and senators and Gungans and Jedi glories to repeat their narrative over and over again. And then they use their ex-Imperial Senate Leaders to endorse “the rebellion.”

All to make them convoy. Make them protest. Make them scream specieism and sexism and xenophobia and anti-Force sensitives. To smash ships, burn droids, shut down hyperspace routes and planet ports of entry, bully and terrorize the law-abiding — until the only option left is for the Stormtroopers to do their jobs and stop the madness.

And when that happens, they’ll use it as an excuse for their outrage. The only way we stop this, the only way we save our galaxy and our freedom, is to fight this violence of lies with the clenched fist of truth.

I’m the STAR WARS Galactic Empire. And I’m the Force’s safest place.

Uh hey quick question what the FUCK does that mean?

It means you need to agree to do a long list of things not in the job description for no extra wage and you can’t complain about it or ask for more money

Applicant must lick my boots during interview and tell me they enjoy it.

Ok. This is illegal if on an application. You can’t discriminate against an entire age group of people. And what is an “attitude” exactly under legal definition? So they behave arrogant to your specifications… I know someone who runs this country like that, and he’s definitely not a millennials though I have questions, so, there’s that. I’m GenX, so this mess bothers me.

By hating the Emperor and trying to rebel, Jedi are only increasing the severity of his policies against them. If Jedi throughout the galaxy try to instill into the mind of the Emperor and the Empire recognition of the ideals for which the Force stands, and if Jedi appeal to the Imperial sense of justice and the Imperial Galactic conscience, I am sure the problem will be solved more effectively and early otherwise. I assert, the rebellion against the Empire is not an effective means of meeting the evil. Rebellions are simply war without firepower, and war in any form is not the way to right the wrongs being inflicted on the Jedi and the Rebels.

Girl characters don’t get enough recognition and boy muns don’t get enough respect in the rp community. Sexism in this community is very real and vile. The rp community on here is very female dominated and that’s great! It’s so nice to see that but it means nothing if it becomes toxic. Female characters aren’t any less interesting, you’re just sexist. Male muns aren’t any less talented or serious (or whatever it is you make fun of them for, why do people do this?? idu) you’re just sexist. Maybe I’ve just been in the wrong circles but I’m so tired of the elitism, nothing makes you better than anyone else here.

Reblog/Like if you love Kelly Marie Tran and Rose Tico

I’m tired of seeing the negativity thrown her way and I want to elevate positivity instead!

Sadly, I have to bring this back in light of more bullshit from the musty, troglodyte recesses of the SW fandom who drove KMT to go dark on social media.

Rose is so sweet and smart and I’m glad that Star Wars included her. Meanwhile, Kelly is awesome and she seems like a really kind person and anyone who attacks her is a total asshole.

i love how tumblr likes to act like it is a bunch of really intellectual activists who understand politics, religion, sexuality, and literature better than most of the human population

when it is mostly hormonal teenagers and incredibly pretentious uninformed college students

George Lucas 2010, at the Clone Wars Writers’ Meeting:

The core of the Force–I mean, you got the dark side, the light side, one is selfless, one is selfish, and you wanna keep them in balance. What happens when you go to the dark side is it goes out of balance and you get really selfish and you forget about everybody … because when you get selfish you get stuff, or you want stuff, and when you want stuff and you get stuff then you are afraid somebody is going to take it away from you, whether it’s a person or a thing or a particular pleasure or experience.

Once you become afraid that somebody’s going to take it away from you or you’re gonna lose it, then you start to become angry, especially if you’re losing it, and that anger leads to hate, and hate leads to suffering. Mostly on the part of the person who’s selfish, because you spend all your time being afraid of losing everything you’ve got instead of actually living.

Where joy, by giving to other people you can’t think about yourself, and therefore there’s no pain. But the pleasure factor of greed and of selfishness is a short-lived experience, therefore you’re constantly trying to replenish it, but of course the more you replenish it, the harder it is to, so you have to keep upping the ante. You’re actually afraid of the pain of not having the joy.

So that is ultimately the core of the whole dark side/light side of the Force. And everything flows from that. Obviously the Sith are always unhappy because they never get enough of anything they want. Mostly, their selfishness centers around power and control. And the struggle is always to be able to let go of all that stuff.

And of course that’s the problem with Anakin ultimately. You’re allowed to love people, but you’re not allowed to possess them. And what he did is he fell in love and married her and then became jealous. Then he saw in his visions that she was going to die, and he couldn’t stand losing her. So in order to not lose her, he made a pact with the devil to be able to become all-powerful. When he did that, she didn’t want to have anything to do with him anymore, so he lost her.

Once you are powerful, being able to bring her back from the dead, if I can do that, I can become emperor of the universe. I can get rid of the Emperor. I can make everything the way I want it. Once you do that, you’ll never be satiated. You’re always going to be consumed by this driving desire to have more stuff and be afraid that others are going to take it away from you. And they are. Every time you get two Sith together, you have the master, the apprentice, and the apprentice is always trying to recruit another apprentice to join with him to kill the master. The master knows that basically everybody below him wants his job.

Only way to overcome the dark side is through discipline. The dark side is pleasure, biological and temporary and easy to achieve. The light side is joy, everlasting and difficult to achieve. A great challenge. Must overcome laziness, give up quick pleasures, and overcome fear which leads to hate.

These themes are repeated in this 2012 interview with Bill Bradley. One of the themes that came up again was that the two sides of the Force were about selflessness vs selfishness, about a compassionate person vs a person consumed with self-interest.  That we all have good and evil in us, that we all have the compassionate side and the selfish side in  us.  And the idea is to keep those things in balance.

That the Force is based on the core theme of just about every religious mythology ever–the struggle between good and evil, that both are elements present, but that we strive towards the good, towards love. That we struggle to overcome the temptations towards the dark that are part of us, that we embrace love as best we can.

fuckyeahroleplayadvice:

Hello, I hope all is well! I don’t really run a rp blog but I have a friend who is using my original characters to rp with others on their blog. They didn’t really ask me whether I felt comfortable with them rping my original characters but I never questioned it.

What makes me uncomfortable and slightly upset is that they don’t seem to listen to my thoughts, ideas, or headcannons concerning my characters and instead comes up their own without even asking me most of the time. They don’t really ask for my input on any ideas they have for my original characters and writes them however they want to. In fact they have never asked me about my original characters personalities, backgrounds, etc., and instead went ahead and came up with their own ideas from the get go. The problem is that their characterization of my oc does not sit well with me as it is almost entirely different from how I would characterize them.

While I don’t run a rp blog myself I am very passionate about my original characters because they are created and developed for the very purpose of creating unique and non-stereotypical darker skinned characters with their own insecurities, and it just makes me sad and uncomfortable to see my friend essentially take my characters from me and make them their own without any concern for my feelings on the matter.

This whole situation has been making me feel horrible because I have started to question whether my ideas are just bad and that’s why they don’t seem to take them seriously or even ask me about them. Yet at the same time my friend will take the ideas I had for my oc and apply it to their personal oc. As of right now I feel like I have no control over my original characters to the point that it feels like they aren’t even my ocs anymore.

I just wanted to know how I should handle the situation because right now I am too scared to speak up as it has gotten to the point that I am just worried that my friend and their rp partners will be upset with my interfering. Not only that but like I said above this situation has made me feel insecure and question whether I should speak up because now I’m worried everyone will hate how I characterize my oc since my friend has made them into their own thing.

First off, I’m very sorry you’re dealing with this situation at all.

It should be said that your friend is completely in the wrong for having blatantly STOLEN your OCs and used them without asking you. I know you’ve tried to be kind in generously allowing them to do so regardless and even telling them more about your character, etc., but this type of thing isn’t right.

Your friend has stolen your character and is using them how they see fit. It’s really that simple. Your ideas are not bad and your characters are yours.

I would truly speak up about it if your characters are that important to you. Here is what I would say:

Hey, I need to discuss something with you because it doesn’t sit right with me anymore. At the beginning, you took my OCs and basically started using them as your own without my permission. I tried to be kind and even allowed you to do so without you ever having consulted me, and even tried to tell you about my character so you could play them correctly. However, you constantly play my characters and put them in situations in ways that I do not feel comfortable and that is not my character at all. I do not appreciate this and I am requesting that you stop roleplaying my characters altogether. You have taken my work and tried to make it your own. And not only is it unfair to me, it is very disrespectful. So please, stop playing my characters now and for future reference.

Also please note that a ‘friend’ would not completely steal your character and move along with it and basically ignore everything you have to say about it. It would not be interfering if you speak up, because this person should not have stolen your OCs to begin with.

All the best to you!

The point of an OC is to create your own. Give them your own stuff. Own faceclaim, own backstory, own.

Which is why we stopped roleplaying with original characters because people plagiarize the work and really, when you are in the creative process which take a lot to develop OC’s you do put emotions and feelings into it because that is how our brains work neurological and psychologically. It’s all about creativity. And to restrict our interactions until we get to know the real person behind the original character is more essential to us than to watch a person who took some time and effort to develop their OC only to have it taken from them and denigrated.

We do not have a problem with the creation of OCs. That’s a good thing. We have a problem with unsavory  others taking people’s OCs for their own uses disrespecting the time and effort it took to create an OC.

With established characters, well, taking characters and doing behaviors that are odd is what it is all about. It is how someone chooses their MUSE. So what? We do not own the characters, in this case Star Wars. So if someone wants to RP Darth Vader as Donald Trump, well have at it, best of luck. Not something we’d recommend, but whatever… Not our call. We probably won’t be RPing a Darth Vader Donald Trump though. Vader isn’t dumb.

SWAG77 promotes reading, writing and performing Star Wars on social media.

OCs are a manifestation of that. One of the best way to override how someone RPs your “stolen OC” is to write your fanfic (everyday), and then you’d have to find a way to promote it in your fandom.
