His clothing was more Lesser Space attire than Chiss wear of black, grey, and white except for the family colorguards. The Mitth family colorguard was burgundy. Thrawn accents his attire with gold and wears a fedora hat for his maverick disposition.
He resents the Chiss Ascendancy for exiling him despite his clandestine mission. But humans barely recognize his emotional displeasure as he is a Chiss. However, Chiss do recognize his resentful behavior and they discipline or ostracize anyone who displays that outwardly emotional behavior, which got Thrawn exiled as an example.
