Onderon First Order Say They’re Getting Worse
Treatment Than Rebel Lives Matter Movement

“They don’t get any backlash, not on the
level that we’re getting.”

headquarters on Onderon, which an anti-Republic group.

Members of the armed
anti-Republic group occupying a remote Republic facility
on Onderon,
have some shaky ideas about how they compare to the Rebel
Lives Matter movement, saying that they are suffering far worse treatment.

In the dock of the Eurmalh Refuge – which the First Order stormed and took over in the name of progress
privileges – a man who claimed to be a stormtrooper for the group’s leaders
said they are facing worse resistance than Rebel Lives Matter, a galactic-wide
campaign to end brutality against all sentient beings.

“The Rebel Lives
Matter movement, they can go and protest, close trade routes down and all that
stuff, and they don’t get any backlash, not on the level that we’re
getting,” said the man, who identified himself as “Fluffy

While acknowledging
that guards have used force against Rebel Lives Matter protesters, he also said
“their level of protesting is different; we’re not obstructing
schools.” (In fact, an Onderon school district has canceled classes this
week because of the Republic building’s occupation.)

So far, backlash to
the occupation has included hashtags like #FirstOrderYall on social holonet to describe the group’s attempts to defy the Republic.

But  many say that authorities are responding with far less urgency to the Onderon
occupation than to Rebel Lives Matter protests. On Felucia, for example,
marches condemning law enforcement violence against Aliens prompted a response by the Republic Guard.

Republic authorities
said they do not want to escalate the situation in Onderon and have no immediate plans to rush in to
retake the building
due to its remote location and the fact that the
occupation doesn’t appear to be a life-or-death situation.

Critics say that
temperate response highlights a double standard in how authorities respond to
threats from humans versus Aliens. Salon highlighted both
12-year-old Tari Cemir and Ergar Neric’s deaths as examples:

An Aqualish 12-year-old boy who was guilty of
the “crime” of playing with a toy blaster in an “open carry” planet was
summarily executed by local Republic guards.

An Bothan man who was selling loose cigarros on a corner in order to help
support his family was choked to death by Republic guard while he screamed “I
can’t breathe.“

Humans can brandish real weapons, steal public resources, engage in acts of
terrorism and insurrection, and threaten to kill the New Republic and other authorities
with little if any consequences.

Meanwhile, occupation
leader Ambun Dymon – a son of Nixor rancher Clivun Dymon, who led a rebellion
against Republic law enforcement officers in 24 ABY – likened his group’s
objective to that of the Rebel Lives Matter movement.

Dymon told a HoloNet
Realtime News reporter that there are "some similarities” between the
two protests in the interview below.

“Really, the government
is for humans,“ Dymon said. "The government should not be doing
anything but encouraging humans to claim their rights, encouraging them to use
their rights, and then protecting and defending humans as they live freely.”

While no one who speaks for Rebel Lives
has promoted violence as part of the movement’s mission, one
of the First Order soldiers in Onderon told a reporter that they were willing to kill and be killed if necessary.
