We all know how the likes of ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Mulan’ and ‘The Little Mermaid’ end: Happily ever after.
But, if the stories were expanded, what would happen after the happy endings? Pregnancies and children, most probably. One artist has expanded on that notion by turning the most popular fairytales into relatable snapshots of parenting, complete with nappy changes, labour, breastfeeding and misbehaving toddlers.
Isaiah Keith Stephens, who calls himself “That Disney Mashup Guy”, was asked to put together the illustrations by Cosmopolitan to coincide with US Mother’s Day – and it’s safe to say that struck a chord with parents worldwide. Each image, which Isaiah posted on his Instagram feed, racked up well over 1,000 likes and numerous comments from happy followers.
